Help promote the Kansas veterinary profession by serving as an ambassador at the Kansas State Fair Birthing Center. This is the largest public awareness effort the KVMA holds each year. Approximately 90,000 fair visitors are expected to drop by the Birthing Center and learn about the veterinary profession. You will find your experience as a KVMA Ambassador enjoyable and rewarding.
In 2015, the KVMA Public Relations Committee added hands-on activities to the KVMA area that included: Be A Vet mock clinic for youth, suture demonstrations, radiographs and more.
Volunteer Duties & Guidelines:
• You will receive free admission to the Fair, a guest pass and our sincere thanks!
• We need TWO volunteers for each 3 hour shift.
• Members of the veterinary profession and KSU CVM students/faculty are encouraged to volunteer. We regret that we cannot accept volunteer requests from the general public.
• Volunteers talk with fair-goers and answer general questions about animal care and the exhibit. In addition, volunteers are asked to keep the booth organized, materials replenished, etc.
Plan a Day at the Fair for Your Practice Team:
Plan a Day at the Fair for your practice team! Team members can pair up to work the booth in 3 hour shifts, then enjoy the sights and sounds of the Fair with their coworkers. It's a great team-building exercise that also allows you the opportunity to share your team's veterinary knowledge with the public.
Make the Most of Your FREE Fair Admission:
Schedule your shift for the day when your favorite performer is in concert. Check out special events or exhibits you've had your eye on. Make a day of it!
