• KVMA News Online - a 10 issue a year newsletter designed to keep veterinarians informed about all activities of the Association and other topics useful to their practices.
• The website www.ksvma.org was designed to be an information resource for veterinarians and an introduction of the profession to the public. Through the KVMA Members section the public can look up a veterinarian for advice and/or care for their pets.
• KVMA advocates on legislative and regulatory matters impacting veterinary practices, animal welfare, and similar issues that concern its members. The staff and KVMA Legislative Committee are constantly monitoring legislative activites in Kansas by promoting and supporting sound public policy as it affects the veterinary profession.
• We provide direct and informed liaison for veterinarians with state health department officials.
• The KVMA increases public awareness of and works to improve the public's image of veterinarians, their practices, and their education.
• The KVMA supplies displays for the Kansas State Fair and information for public schools promoting veterinary medicine and informing about important diseases.
• The KVMA provides nominations to the Governor from which members of the Kansas Board of Veterinary Examiners are appointed.
• Professional associations offer prime opportunities to share and receive the creativity of peers. Many new and valuable ideas sprout from interactions between individual members.
